Zennitira Elnora Stevenson

Zannitria Arlene "Nitra" Stevenson was born on September 7, 1974, in New Orleans LA. to Gaynell Stevenson and June Jackson. She departed this life in New Orleans on Sunday, August 10, 2025, along with her fiance Esvin Carrera-Pineda and her beloved son Jarrell Stevenson Sr. She was 50 years old and a dedicated member of New home Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Samuel R. Blakes Sr. Nitra grew up in the heart of New Orleans and was raised in the Magnolia Projects, (a place she always held dear to her heart and proudly represented).She often visited and worshipped at the New Orleans Seventh Day Adventist Church under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin Francois. She is the beloved mother of Iriell Stevenson, Glen Russ, Deshawn Travis and the late Jarrell Stevenson Sr., and the late Christopher "Wooda" Conner. Devoted stepmother of Alex, Edwin and Isaiah Cerrera-Frost. cherished grandmother of Ja'Narie Willis, Ja'nyi Stevenson, Jarrell Stevenson Jr., J'ziah Brown and Melody Russ. She is also her parents Gaynell Stevenson (Leonard) and Juner Jackson, her siblings; George, Desmond, Brandon "Trina" Simmons and Philtrel Conner, her favorite uncles; Theron, and Kevin Stevenson; her favorite aunt Loria "Lucy" Russell and her "go-to girls and sisters from another mother", Evangeline Johnson, Lynette Burton, Shawn Powell and Demetries Lloyd, and her Godmother; Wanda Pearson. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memories.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, August 29, 2025 at New home Ministries located at 1616 Carondelet St., New Orleans LA. 70130. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by a 10AM service. Pastor Samuel R. Blakes Sr. will officiate, and interment will follow in Holt Cemetery 527 City Park Ave., New Orleans LA. 70119.
