Woodrow Autmon

Woodrow Autmon Jr. "Woody", departed this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 18, 2023 at his home in Harvey LA. He was 54 years old and a native of Port Sulphur LA. Woody was a 1988 graduate of Port Sulphur High School and worked for the Plaquemines Parish Ferry Department for several years. He was baptized as a young adult at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church of Port Sulphur by the late Pastor Joseph N. Taylor and was dedicated member and ordained deacon at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oakville LA.

Beloved son of Geraldine Blackwell Autmon and the late Woodrow Autmon Sr. Devoted husband of the love of his life Avielle Marie Cross. Devoted stepfather of Gabrielle and A'alana Washington and Lahndon Rhodes. Brother of Anthony, William, Sandra, Tarais (Latecial), and the late Patrick Autmon. Best friend of Spencer Narcisse, Pastor Troy Gause and the late Victor Battle. Son in law of Albertine and Melvin Cross Jr. Woody is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends whom he loved dearly.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Cross Community Church located at 3233 Ames Blvd, Marrero LA. 70072. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by a 11AM service. Pastor Troy Gause will officiate and Pastor Darryl Menina of the Mt. Zion B.C. of Oakville LA. will deliver the eulogy. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery 1225 Whitney Ave, Terrytown, Louisiana.
