Wilfred Antoine Obituary
Wilfred Antoine, Sr., also known as "Jump Back" "Stuffy" departed life peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at his daughter home in Gretna, La. He was 81 years old. Wilfred was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, La.
Wilfred was born on April 12, 1944, to the late Milton Sr. and Evelyn Williams Antoine. He was the beloved husband of Linda Espadron Antoine and devoted father of Nellice, Wilfred, Jr. (April), Nerissa and Wayne (Kimberly).
Wilfred is also survived by 6 grandchildren Nyree Parker, Quadry, Kazmi, Ahmad, Kayleigh , Khayden Antoine, 6 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, 1 godchild and devoted friends.
He was a retiree of Plaquemines Parish Government. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army. Wilfred was baptized later in life by Rev. Joseph Taylor. He was a prankster and loved to tell jokes. He enjoyed fishing and talking trash with his sons and grandsons about all types of sports. He loved hanging out with his family and close friends Miguel Sylve, Robert Burrle, Sr., Michael Sylve and Winston Powell and many more. He loved calls from his nieces and nephews especially when they taught him about Facebook.
Wilfred leaves to cherish his memories of his wife, Linda, his children Nellice, Wilfred, Jr., Nerissa and Wayne, his 6 grandchildren and his 6 great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law Arnold Espadron and his sister-in-law Linda Jones Espadron.
He is preceded in death by his parents Milton and Evelyn Antoine, his brothers, Milton, Jr. Vernon, Lawerence and Joseph Antoine his sisters, Deloris, Edna and Evelyn Elaine.
The family of Wilfred would like to thank Heart of Hospice, West Jefferson and everyone who called, messaged, visited and assisted the family during this time of bereavement.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at New Sunrise Baptist Church located at 1325 Leboeuf Street, Gretna, LA 70056. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Cornell Sisler officiating and interment will be private.
