Wanda Jean Brown

Wanda Jean Brown, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at her home in Loranger, LA.  She was 71 years old and a native of Empire, LA.  Wanda was a graduate of Linderwood University, and was awarded a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resource Management.  She served in the U.S. Army in the occupation field of Human Resources for over 27 years, and later retired after 27 years as a Master Sergeant.  She was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hammond, LA. 

Beloved daughter of the late Dorsey Brown Jr., and Doretha T. Scott.  She was formerly married to the late Charles Brennon.  Wanda is survived by her only loving son, Charles B. Brennon (Sydney), her beloved stepfather Robert L. Scott. Devoted sister of James M. Brown (Dr. Marzella Brown), the late Joel C. Brown (Audrey), Seymone Martinez, Maurtice Williams, Spartical Brown, and the late Martinez Brown.  She is also survived by her devoted and cherished friends, Dorothy Mae Riley, Joyce Denet, Genia Martin, Vanessa Williams, and Karin Fae.  Her sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Young, Mae St. Ann, Sharon Chambers, Dobbietta Lacey, and Amanda Scott.  Wanda is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life services on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home, 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037, at 11A.M.  The limited visitation will begin at 10A.M.  Bishop Wilfret Johnson pastor of the Oakville Missionary Baptist Church officiating, and interment will be private. 

Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering, and practice social distancing.
