Walter Andrew Eason, Sr.

Walter Andrew Eason Sr. departed this life peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home in Opelousas LA. He was 78 years old. Mr Eason was a native and lifelong resident of Nairn LA. until relocating to Opelousas following Hurricane Katrina.

Son of the late Logan Eason and Bertha Mackey Eason Jones. Devoted husband of Adeline Monroe Eason. Beloved father of Deborah E. Encalade (Lester), Chicquita E. Keller (Angelo), Walter Eason Jr. (Deneisha) and Nolan Eason. Brother of Vanessa Griffin (Rev. Dexter), David A. Durden and the late Alfred O. Eason, Lillie Mae Eason and Shirley Durden Fritz. Mr. Eason is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 godchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and associates.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA-23. The visitation will begin at 12 noon followed by a 1pm service. Entombment will follow in Mackey Cemetery in Nairn LA.
