Verna Ancar Barthelemy

Verna Barthelemy entered into peaceful eternal rest on Thursday February 2, 2023. She was born on November 2, 1944. She was an employee of La Café Casa (Donut Shop) for over 35 years. Devoted parishioner of St. Jude and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelin and Celestine Ancar, husband, Farrell ‘Chico’ Barthelemy Sr., brother, Carroll Ancar Sr. and grandson, Karter Barthelemy.

Verna leaves to cherish her memories her brothers Randy Ancar, Ricky Ancar, and Fabian Ancar Sr.  Children Joy (Ralph), Ken (Debbie), Bart (Charlene), Farrell Jr. (Maniko), Misty, and Josh Sr. (Tiffany).  Grandchildren:  Blanche, Jordy, Demi, Ken Jr., Kyle (Ryott), Nikki, Nicole (Rondell), Lacey (Micah), Jade (Dante), Alysha, Kayla, Ethan, Trey (Chloe), Tia, Tessa, Josh Jr. Great grandchildren: Aliah, Corbin, Gabrial, Ryleigh, Kyhlin, Riddley, Faith, Aris, Rondell Jr., Terrence, Amaya, Anar, Ainsley, Eli and great-great grandson Drayden. Also, a host nieces and nephews and distant relatives and close friends. She was a caring godmother to many and affectionately known as ‘Nanny Verna’ by even more.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church located at 28698 LA – 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083.  The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and mass will begin at 11 a.m.  Father Gerald Stapleton officiating and entombment will follow at OLPH Catholic Church Cemetery located at 8968 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.  Due to lengthy travel time, a private gathering for family/close friends will be held after the burial services.     

Due to Covid – 19, facemasks are encouraged.
