Valerie Ava Morton, known to many as "Val" gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the tender age of 55. She was a native of Marrero, LA.
Valerie Ava Morton was born on December 14, 1967, in New Orleans, LA to Judy Morton and to the late Noble Morton, Jr. She was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System and graduated from John Ehret High School in 1985. Val loved the sport of basketball and was on the basketball team in middle/high school, she was also a member of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Junior Deputies majorette dance team in her early years.
Val accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Joseph Baptist Church in Marrero under the leadership of the late Rev. Talton Lewis.

Val embarked upon a career in retail/sales for over 30 years, she was always a reliable, dedicated, and hard-working person who co-workers, clients and customers loved and adored.
Val was a songbird who enjoyed traveling, singing with her church choir, cooking (even when she says she wasn't't going to cook she'd still get in the kitchen), talking to friends/family on the phone and shopping. She was a deeply devoted mother, Nana, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend to all she loved, if you needed her, she was there, she always gave the best words of encouragement and advice when it was needed. Her most favorite pastime was spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, enjoying quality time, having fun with them, and laughing. Val was a sweet soul that got along with everyone she met and that smile of hers would light up every room she walked into.
