Ungie Marie Merrick-Powell

Ungie Marie Merrick-Powell entered eternal life on Saturday, August 5, 2023. She was 47 years old. Ungie was born on May 14, 1976, to Iris Rachel Merrick and Ronald Cunningham, Sr. Ungie was the devoted wife of Bobby Gerald Powell, and loving mother to Unique St. Ann, Malik (Brooke) Merrick, Kierra (Daesean) Thompson, Sr., Breyahn, Sara and Kimani Powell. She was the grandmother of Myles and Maisyn Merrick, Karlie and Daesean Thompson, Jr., and Brynleigh Davis. She is also survived by a devoted aunt, Merlisha Merrick, her siblings, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ungie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a proud graduate of Boothville Venice High School Class of 1994. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, a brother, and two brothers in law.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA - 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Lamar Toulouse officiating and interment will be private.
Immediately following the service, the family will receive guest for a repast at the American Legion Post 438, 524 General Meyer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70131.
