Troylyn Crayton Jefferson, 57, departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Touro Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born on September 14, 1965, in New Orleans to the parents of the late Gloria Bibbins Crayton and Ernest T. Crayton Jr.
Troylyn was a church-going person who attended Free Mission Missionary Baptist Church in the lower 9th ward on Egaina Street. She is a proud graduate of the G.W. Carver High School class of 1983 where she had the nickname "9th ward Truck". She was employed by Johnson Mortgage Corporation Real Estate Financing for 7 years and the New Orleans District Attorney's Office for 20 years.
She was married 38 years to her late husband Alfred James Jefferson Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters Ci'eane Jefferson (Karl) and Allaina Jefferson (Clarence) and her bonus son Jonathan Darryl Jordan (Monica). Her father Ernest T. Crayton Jr., sisters Francine Dixon and Debra Crayton. Her brothers Clarence Jordan, Quentrell, Tracy Jordan, Reginald Crayton, and Ernest Crayton III. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces, nephews' other relatives and devoted friends.
Troylyn was preceded in death by her husband Alfred James Jefferson Sr., Mother Gloria Crayton, sister Shannon Ann Mahognay and her brother Darryl Jordan.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life services which will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Gentilly Baptist Church located at 5141 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, La., 70122. The visitation will begin at 1 p.m., and the service will begin at 2 p.m. Pastor Ken Taylor is the host pastor and Reverend Jordan L. Robinson Sr., is officiating.
Due to Covid - 19, facemasks are encouraged.
