Tammy Jean Frederick Gilbert

Tammy Jean Frederick Gilbert of Buras, Louisiana departed this life on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, surrounded by her loving family. She was 61 years old and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA., for the past 4 years.
She was the loving mother of Sandy Marie Gilbert and Kayla Marie Frederick (Jerome Antoine). Nana to the light of her eyes her grandchildren, Allison (Greg Barthelemy), Shae, Michael, Matthew, Cassidy, Harmonie, and Jacoby. Great-grandmother of Kingston, Zander, Jaliyah, Kyren and Greg. Sister of Vickie Lynn Frederick Reddick (Terry), and Janice Ann Frederick Walker. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Tammy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life which brought her great joy. Her cheerful attitude, bright smile, and big blue eyes will be missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Simon Bratis (Brad) and Dolores Cognevich Frederick, sister Mary Marie Frederick and brother Kenneth Bradley Frederick, brother-in-law Richard Glen Walker. Her grandparents, John Nicholas and Sophie Agnes Buras Cognevich and John Riley and Dithula Witington Frederick.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Venice located at 42743, LA - 23, Venice, La. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 12 noon. Reverend Steve Paris is officiating, and entombment will take place at a later date.
