Sadiki Kijana Shief

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, our beloved Sadiki transitioned to his eternal home leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family, friends, and faith.
Sadiki Kijana "Tater" Shief was born on April 15, 1981, in New Orleans, LA. Sadiki was a 1999 graduate of O. Perry Walker High School. Following his academic studies, he entered the United States Army and continued his career of service as an engineer with the New Orleans Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Sadiki's love for family was boundless. He was a selfless son, brother, godfather, and friend who cherished quality time with his loved ones above all else. His nurturing spirit and unwavering support were a testament to his deep commitment to family values, and he leaves behind cherished memories that will forever live in our hearts.
Sadiki is survived by his doting parents, Tyrone Young Sr, and Myra Joan Shief; his endeared son, Elijah Campbell; grandparents, Martha & Dalton Smith, and the late Wilbert Mason; godchildren, Tyruss Lynn Jr, Janaya Smith, and Alex & Lyric Warner; brothers, Tyrell Young & Tyrone Young, Jr.; sister, Jasmine D. Young; aunts, Shelia Young Atley, Malissa Shief Gregory, Regina (Reginald) Viagas; uncles, William Carter, Cary (Tammy) Shief, Kevin (Sherry) Shief, Waldon Shief, & Gregory Young, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sadiki was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ethel Mary Carter and great grandmothers, Gertrude (Earl) Cooper and Canselo Streeter.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at St. Stephen Baptist Church located at 1737 LB Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70114. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
