Roy Sylve Jr., "Pokey/Zoom", departed this life on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Plaquemines Parish Medical Center in Port Sulphur, LA. He was 65 years old. He was born on November 13, 1957, to the parents of Roy Sylve Sr., and the late Bernice Ancar Sylve.
Pokey leaves to cherish his memory to his loving father, Roy Sylve Sr and stepmother Pearl Sylve, his siblings Bruce & David (Michelle) Sylve, Sr. His stepsisters, Cagney Mitchell, Jessica Rivera, Rhonda Ford, Cassandra Wilson, and Tracey Brooks. His companion Tracey Williams, aunts, Brenda Williamson, & Lana Pantoja, Uncle Elliot (Sarah), Sylve, nieces, Breland Sylve & Courtney (Aaron) Craig and Alyssa Brislan. Nephews, David Sylve Jr., Justin Mitchell, and Jordin Mitchell. Great Nephews, David Sylve III and Malachi James. Godchildren, Darryl Bartholomew Jr., and Ty' Rihanna Demolle. He is also survived by close friends, Darryl, Kevin Bartholomew Sr., Eric, Steward, Alvin, and Dean Phillips along with 9 stepchildren, and 25 step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Bernice Sylve, maternal grandparents Walter & Rose Ancar, paternal grandparents, Louis & Linda Sylve Sr., brother Craig Sylve, his aunts Inez Sylve, Olivia Trahan, Eula Phillips, uncles Mack Ancar, Louis Sr., Ernest & Hilton Sylve.
Relatives and friends of the family as well as employees of Divine Purpose Home Care, are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Robinson Family Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Pastor Haywood Johnson of St. Paul B.C. of Ironton officiating, and entombment will follow at Barthelemy Cemetery in Diamond, LA.
