Deaconess Rosiella Bridges transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the blessed age of 89. Deaconess Bridges was born on December 25, 1936 in Walthall County Mississippi and was a longtime resident of Algiers LA. She was also a longtime member of Second Baptist Church of Algiers, where she served faithfully in several of the church's ministries.
Daughter of the late Coy and Daisy Bridges. Devoted wife of the late Joe L. Bridges Sr. Beloved mother of Rosie Bridges-Garrett, Jerry Bridges (Angela), Joe Bridges Jr. (Stephanie), Fitzgerald Bridges and Mary Harris (David). Sister of Rev. Daniel Bridges (Naomi), Lula Bridges Lewis, Daisy Mae Bridges, Nella Wee Brent, and the late Bonnie Ratcliff, Lillie Bell Brown, C.L., Coy, and J.L. Bridges. Daughter in law of the late Bozie and Oudia Bridges. Step daughter in law of the late Sally Bridges.
Deaconess Bridges is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Second Baptist Church 2826 Sullen Place, New Orleans LA. 70131. The visitation will begin at 8AM followed by a 10AM service. Pastor Andre' Sigler will officiate. Interment will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell LA. at 10AM.
