Rosie Mae Lee – Surtain departed this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in New Orleans, LA. She was 46 years old and a native of New Orleans.
She was born on October 3, 1974, in New Orleans, to Edith Jean Dabon and the late Willie James Lee. She attended Marion Abramson Senior High School. Rosie accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized, at the age of 11 at Faith Temple Baptist Church. Rosie worked at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA. She loved spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music, riding her bike, coloring and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed making gift bags for her loved ones. She had a very kind and generous heart. She put a smile on everyone’s face when she walked in the room. Rosie will be truly missed.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband Keith Surtain, her mother Edith Jean Dabon, stepfather James Dabon, and son Rodrick Stephen Lee. Two Granddaughters, Kaley George – Lee and Karter George Lee. Sisters, Edith Evans, and Katherine Breland (Jeffery), brother, Duron Dabon, and her godbrother Timothy Richard. Also left to cherish her memories are 3 nieces, 5 nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rosie is preceded in death by her father Willie James Lee, son Keith Surtain – Lee, brother Robert Lee, godbrother Gregory Renee Brown Sr., grandfather James Cephus Sr., grandmothers Louise Cephus and Alma Banks. Uncles, Edward Banks, Johnny Lee, and Louis Skipper, aunts Dorothy Cephus – Robinson, Juanita Harden (Birdie), and Juanita Harden.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life services on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Daily Walking with Christ Ministries located at 2019 Orleans, AVE., New Orleans, LA 70116, at 11 a.m. The limited visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Pastor Gary Benson officiating, and interment will follow at Holt Cemetery located at 527 City Park AVE., New Orleans, LA 70119.
Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
