Rodney "Alleycat" Franklin, also affectionately known as "Lucas", entered into eternal rest on Monday December 15, 2025, at his home in Belle Chasse LA., at the age of 66. He was born May 29, 1957, to the late Ranell Franklin and the late Helen Cole Franklin.
A product of Plaquemines Parish School System, Rodney attended Scottsville High School, O. Perry Walker High School and the Job Corps. Known for his "heart of gold", Rodney loved riding his bicycle and spending time on the porch with his mother.
Rodney was the beloved and devoted companion of Bell Elaine Johnson. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Yosha Franklin, and bonus daughters Samantha Gastinell and Sherry Dews. He was the proud grandfather of Daryl Johnson, Barrion and Brandon Watson, and Dae'janea Gastinell. Brother of Shelia Williams, Carolyn Miller (late Kevin), David (Patsy), Willie (late Wanda), Buddy (Melissa), Reginald (Judy) Franklin, and the late Ranell Jr. (late Janice), Leo Sr., Diane, Lillie, Ronald, Donald, and Ricky (Linda) Franklin. He is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service of Saturday December 20, 2025, at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse LA. 70037. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by a 10AM service. Rev. Barry Guillory will officiate.
