Obituary

Sgt. Robert Earl Taylor 69, of Marrero, LA, entered eternal life On Saturday July 15, 2023, at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, LA.

Robert was born on March 9, 1954, in Waterproof, LA, to the late James Earl Taylor and Gladys Watson Taylor. After graduating from L.B. Landy Sr. High School in 1973, he enlisted into the United States Army. In 1974 he married his high school sweetheart Kathy Pierre. Robert and Kathy went on to have 4 beautiful children, Robert E. Taylor Jr., Shavon T. Henry (Shawn) Arion T. Scott (Noel), Kahyla Karlynda Taylor.

In 1993 Robert fully retired from the military. Robert attended Delta College in 1984 where he received his degree in culinary arts. He worked as a longshoreman chef for Delta Catering. Later he went on to work at Oil Mop as a Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Operator.

Robert enjoyed his wife, children, family, and friends. He is known to be the "King" of Dominos and Spades. He loved fishing and spending time in his own personal mancave "THE SHED" If ever anyone could not find him inside the house he was always known to be found in "THE SHED".

Robert had a tremendous love for music, he often brought his family together spinning records on his turn table. He was truly a family man and spent his retirement traveling with the love of his life Kathy "Kat", visiting all his brothers and family from state to state.

When Robert met a person, he remained their friend for a lifetime. He had friends that ranged from 20 years old to 80 years old. Robert loved his Pastor and church family. He took his duty as an usher seriously. You would always see him standing at the entrance clapping off beat with a side to side two step and shoulder shrug, praising God with that quiet sweet smile. He was also a member of the brotherhood of Mt. Sinai B.C. and sung in the Male choir.

Robert loved the Lord and attending church service. He would always be the first person dressed and out of the house on Sunday's sitting in the car eating a banana while everyone else would be rushing. We know Robert is gatekeeping in heaven.

He will truly be missed. He leaves behind his Beloved wife Kathy Pierre Taylor, Son Robert Earl Taylor Jr., daughters Shavon T. Henry, Arion T. Scott, and Kahyla K. Taylor. 6 grandchildren Rojuan E.
