Robert Jones, Jr.

Robert Jones, Jr. went to his eternal rest on August 9, 2024. He was 73. Robert was born to the late Robert and Ruth Brooks Jones on July 17, 1951. Robert was the grandson of the late Alfred and Mable King Brooks. He was proceeded in death by Aunts and Uncles Jacquline Brooks, Patsy Brooks, Audrey and Ernest Prout, Josphine and George Brooks, Ada Brooks, Alfred and Irene Brooks, and Margurite Brooks. He graduated from Scottville High School as valedictorian and later attended Xavier University in New Orleans in which he majored in accounting. Robert worked for Brown & Ruth in Belle Chasse for a number of years then the Louisiana Superdome for 20 years until he retired.

Robert was survived by wife Antoinette Eubaire, one son Robert Aaron (Cristi L) Jones of Clarksville, TN, three grandchildren Bryson, Alissa and Alaija Jones also from Clarksville, TN, Step-daughter Marese Butler, two sisters, Penelope Jones of Harvey, LA, Rosalin A. (Robert) Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN, one brother Phillip H (Nathalie) Jones of Algiers, LA., two aunts Catherine (Dave) Butler of Gretna, Juanita F. Brooks of Belle Chasse, LA, three uncles Clifford, Clinton and Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Brooks. Four sisters-in-law, Adele and Cynthia Eubaire, Tonda, January Hebert, four brothers-in-laws, Walter, Harold, Randell, and Dione Hebert. His beloved nieces Bridgett Jones, Jacqueline Jones, Jennifer Jones, and Gabrielle Jones. His beloved nephews, Richard A. Jones, Derrick Jones, Joseph Delay, Torrey Eubaire and Sheldon Bridges. He is also survived by a host of nieces (great nieces), nephews (great nephews), relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also all neighboring churches are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church located at 1747 LA - 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. The visitation will begin at 9 am and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Joseph Brooks officiating, and entombment will follow at Bayhi-Becnel Cemetery.
