Ricky Buddy Videau Franklin, Sr.

Ricky B. "Gas Man" Videau Franklin, Sr. entered into eternal rest on April 1, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born to the union of the late Helen C. and Ranell Franklin, Sr. From an infant he was lovingly cherished and raised by the late Novairia "James" and Lillie Rose G. Videau. He was the devoted husband of Linda Payne Franklin for 47 years. Loving father of Nikkell (Trinithy), Ricky Jr. (Shamika), and DaMahn (Alexis) Franklin. Grandfather of DeVontre', DeAndre', Jadyn, Sophia, Julien, Rozne', Chrishiaya, Chrishay, Chrishode, A'Mari and Anthony, and great-grandfather of R'Miyah. Brother of David (Patsy), Rodney (Elaine "Bell"), Reginald (Judy), Willie (late Wanda) and Buddy (Melissa) Franklin, Sheila Williams, Carolyn (late Kevin) Miller, and the late Ranell Jr. (late Janice), Leo Sr., Diane, Lillie, Ronald and Donald Franklin. Nephew of Theodolph "Teddy" and Marcia Videau. Father-in-law of DeWayne Parker. Brother-in-law of Marguerite, Henry and Wanda Payne, Gwen P. and Bobby Tucker. Godfather of Veronique Mendoza, Catrina Miller, Andrew Hicks, Jr., and Rananek Hartley. Father figure and confidante of Stephanie Gary, Valencia Ann Allen and Patrick "Pete" Gibson. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ricky was a resident of Gretna (Jones Town), LA, and was educated in Jefferson Parish School System.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor, Officers and Members of New Beginnings Christian Ministry 3, Israelite, Regular, Pentecost and St. Andrew Baptist Churches, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the celebration of life at Household of Faith Church, Rev. Booker T. Collor, Jr., Pastor, 712 27th St., Gretna, LA on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Kenneth Parker, Sr., officiating. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
