Richard Noil Jones

Richard Noil Jones, affectionately known as “Uncle Mike” or “Tiger”, transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 88. He was a native of Boothville, LA and a resident of Amite, LA.

He was the beloved husband of the late Angeline Prout Jones. Devoted father of Vera (late Jerry) Manuel, Gerald (Gail) Jones, Sr., Ellery Jones, Wilbur (Benittlia) Jones, and Averil (Norman, Sr.) Turner. Son of the late Richard G. Jones and Alexanderine Mackey Jones. Beloved brother of Lois Tate. Brother-in-law of Elaine Prout, Elsie Nelson, and Bernice Jones. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was the Godfather of Makia Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Tera Autmon; 4 brothers, Clifford, Alvin, Earl and Albert Jones; 5 sisters Maize Duncan, Mary Brickley, Lavinia Franklin, Irma Powell, and Catherine Brown; 7 sisters-in-law and 6 brothers-in-law; 1 Godchild.

Private celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church of Arcola, Roseland, LA 70456 at 11 a.m.  The limited visitation will begin at 9 a.m.  Elder John Smith officiating., and interment will follow at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church’s cemetery.  The family will also receive guest for a visitation on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 LA - 23, Belle Chasse, LA, 70037 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.   

Due to COVID -19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
