Rene Jude Ancar

Rene Jude Ancar departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1959, to the union of the late Gerald Ancar Sr., and Augustine Ancar in Port Sulphur, La. He is a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, LA, and worked for the Plaquemines Parish Government for over 10 years. He was a man of God and accepted Christ into his life decades prior to his passing. He will forever be remembered for his kindheartedness, generosity, and meaningful friendships. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Renee Barthelemy, sons, Rene Barthelemy (Virginia), brothers, Dwayne (Cindy), Ancar and Elmo (Michael) Ancar, sisters in laws, Rose Mae and Sonya Ancar, his devoted friend Lajuan Dinet, and godmother Cecile Alma Alexis. He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Ancar Sr., Mother Augustine Ancar, brothers, Gerald Ancar Jr., Louis Ancar Sr., Adrian Ancar and his godfather Bob Phillips. Also left to cherish his memories are his 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Plaquemines Parish Government, local churches are all invited to attend the celebration of life which will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church located at 28698 LA - 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083. The visitation will begin at 8 a.m., and mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Father Gerald P. Stapleton officiating, and entombment will follow at Barthelemy Cemetery in Diamond, LA.
