It is with great sorrow that we announce the homegoing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, Pauline Miller Manuel. Pauline departed her earthly life at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank Hospital on Wednesday June 25, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born on September 10, 1941 in New Orleans LA. and was the first of nine children born to the union of the late Lawrence Miller Jr. and Morgan Miller. Her siblings are Brenda and Eugene "Willie" Miller and the late Florence Shedrick (late Elijah), Matthew Williams (Leola), Thomas, Vernon, Herbert, and Renard Miller.
She is the wife of the late Herman Manuel Jr., and the loving mother of Denise Manuel (Eugene), Trudie M. Lambert (late Willie), Michelle Sylve (David) and the late Herman Manuel III and Rosalyn Manuel. She also leaves behind her stepchildren Darren Wilson (Sherita) and Denise Ross Byes, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, brothers and sister in law, nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Pauline was a kind and generous soul, always thinking about others. Above all she was a faithful child of the Most High God. She kept the faith and fought the good fight, never wavering in her beliefs. Even in illness, she stood firm in her trust in the Lord. Her quiet courage, patience and grace inspired everyone around her. One of her favorite saying "It is what it is", was a testament to her peace with God's will and her refusal to worry about what she nor man could not control.
Pauline was a devoted member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Ironton LA. where she was baptized at a young age in the Mississippi River by the late Rev. James Brown. She attended Scottville School and retired from Belle Chasse State School (Metropolitan Developmental Center) after many years of dedicated service.
