Patricia Dixon Obituary

In Loving Memory of Patricia Ann Bankston Dixon
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Bankston Dixon, who departed this life on March 11, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on September 25, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Patricia was a woman of extraordinary grace, strength, and compassion. She was a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a guiding light to all who were blessed to know her.
Patricia dedicated her life to caring for others-a calling that defined both her profession and her purpose. She built a remarkable 30-year career in the healthcare field, where she touched countless lives through her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. Following Hurricane Katrina, she played a meaningful role in the rebuilding of her beloved hometown, New Orleans, through her work with Landis Construction Company. In her later years, she continued her life's mission as a professional caregiver, once again pouring into families by providing exceptional love, comfort, and support to those in need.
Her hands were gentle, her heart was selfless, and her presence brought peace in moments when it was needed most. To know her was to experience kindness in its purest form. She had a beautiful spirit-strong yet tender, loving yet resilient-and her sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around her.
Above all, Patricia loved her family. She was the foundation, the nurturer, and the protector-the one who made everyone feel seen, heard, and deeply loved. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman R. Dixon, her parents, Robert Bankston and Rosemary Brown, her brothers, Rodgers Bankston and Robert Bankston, and her grandson, Vernon C. Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Sonita D. Rochon (Albert Rochon) and Tandi S. Dixon; her siblings, Larry Bankston, Judith Bankston, and Gilbert Morgan, Jr.; her grandchildren, Thomas Lewis, Lauren Dixon, Trevor Tate, and Taylor Tate; and her great-grandchildren, Anyla' Carvajal, Malani Lewis, Ty'Lan Lewis, and Zora O'Neal, along with a host of extended family and loved ones whose lives she touched in countless ways.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us always. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be forever missed and forever loved.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
