Owen James Barthelemy was born on November 21,1980 and departed this life on Tuesday May 9, 2023. He was 42 years old at the time of his passing. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Theresa "Dale" Barthelemy and Olen Barthelemy. A native and lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, Louisiana and an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Owen was a quiet but loving person who cared for many. He was a loving and caring caregiver for a family member. In his spare time, Owen James Barthelemy enjoyed playing basketball, taking walks around the neighborhood, sharing a good laugh with loved ones, and lending a helping hand when needed. His favorite football team was Kansas City "Chiefs" and his favorite basketball team was the Chicago "Bulls". Owen was known for his sense of humor, love for food, and generous, kind spirit. He cultivated deep and meaningful relationships with his loved ones and will be remembered for his unwavering love, compassion, and selflessness.
Owen leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Kaneisha Cross, Harold DeMolle, and Aiden Barthelemy; grandchildren, Makhi Cross, Kayden Cross, Ceemya Riley, and Tahani DeMolle; his father, Olen Barthelemy Sr.; sisters and brothers, Shawanda Ingraham (Kirk), Olen Barthelemy Jr., Emmette Barthelemy, Stephanie Barthelemy, Constance Williams (Kenneth), Dominique Barthelemy (Russell), Megan Barthelemy, Felix Barthelemy; godparents, Rhonda Rogers and Anthony Barthelemy; plus uncles, aunts, and his many nieces and nephews. Psalm 23: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
His loving mother Dale Barthelemy and his grandparents precede him in death.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28698 Highway 23, Port Sulphur, LA 70083 on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10 a.m., Father Gerard P. Stapleton will officiate. Entombment will follow in Barthelemy Cemetery, Diamond, LA 70083.
