Otis Kareem 'Dooby" Mackey departed this life on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at University Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 8th, 1973. He was 51 years old and was a long-time resident of Port Sulphur, La., before relocating to Hammond, La. He was employed with Leviathan Offshore of Houma, La. Beloved son of the late Joann Parker Mackey and the late Paul Theodore Mackey and stepson of Sonia Mackey. Devoted husband of Shannon Mackey.

Beloved father of Kelsey Mackey, Cornelius Ducro, Lynnae, Nashae, London, and Jace Williams. Father-in-law of Lacey Williams and Keiron Page. Brother of Ernest Mackey, Vicky (the late Cornell) Thomas, Don Mackey, Melissa (Wilbert) Richardson, Christopher (Sharkay) Mackey, Ursula (Bruce) McKinny, the late Christina Mackey, the late Detrice (Byron) Williams. Godson of Sheila Camese and Brian Davis, Sr. Brother-in-law of Nelson (Angelle) Williams, Trevor (Trekira) Williams Jamie (Lionel) Scott and the late James (Shativa) Nickerson, Martha Rodgers, Shermaine Barthelemy, Janiero (Gilya) Baxter. Deceased is also survived by 8 grandsons, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, Leviathan Offshore, Riverbend Nursing and Rehab, C-Dive, PSC, Gibson Services are all invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church 27954 Highway 23, Port Sulphur, La. 70083. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Allen Johnson officiating and interment will follow at Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire, La.
