Orlando Bond Peterson

Orlando Bond Peterson passed away at the age of 71, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his home in Decatur, Alabama. He was born on August 6, 1952 in Iguitos, Peru. He arrived in the United States at the age of 12 and grew up in Chalmette LA. He then became a longtime resident of Gretna LA.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents Marcial and Mercedes Gil Wanderly, his adopted parents Oscar Isidore Peterson and Jimmie Ruth Stillwell, and his siblings Norma and Manuel Gil Wanderly. Orlando is survived by his devoted wife Alice Bartholomew Peterson and his children Michelle Peterson, Aaron Stogner, Robert Peterson and Orlando Peterson (Myra), his grandchildren; Deonte', Kandii, De'Juan, Breiona, Sierra, Milton Jr., Orlando Jr., Jayden, Emerie, Alayna, MayMay, RoRo, Michael, Kristopher and Jade., and his great grandchildren; Kamrynn, Kevin, Ka'Myr, Khaza,Deonte Jr., Isreal and Vegas. He is also survived by his siblings Rodolfo, Marcial, Josefa, Anna and Mercedes, an adopted brother Fred Peterson as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse LA. 70037. The visitation will begin at 3PM. followed by a 5PM service. Reverend Jordan La'Vell Robinson Sr. will officiate and music will be provided by Mr. Devin Frazier. A repast will follow the service at Congratulations Hall located at 1900 Lafayette St. Gretna LA. 70053.
