Molly Robinson-Garner Obituary

Molly Ann Robinson-Garner transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Greenwood Laflore Hospital in Greenwood, Mississippi two weeks prior to her 56th birthday. She was a lifelong resident of lower Plaquemines Parish and was a former Para-Professional with Plaquemines Parish School Board.  She was a proud graduate of Buras High School class of 1981 and received her secondary education from the University of New Orleans and Delgado Community College. She was a longtime member of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church of Empire, La where she served as an usher.

Beloved daughter of the late Helen Duncan Robinson and Alfred Robinson Jr. Wife of the late Charlie J. Garner. Devoted mother of Travis (Shannon) and Treshell L. Garner. Cherished grandmother of Calina Jolie’ Garner.  Loving sister of Joell R. (Samuel) Griffith, Linda R. (late Perry Sr.) Alexis, Madella R. (Ronald) Edmonds, Jerome L. (Felecia) Robinson, Traynell R. (Randell Sr.) Griffin and the late Tyrone (Margie) Robinson. Adopted sister of Terrence (Christy) Robinson Sr. Granddaughter of the late Inez Ruby and Alfred Robinson Sr., Mollie Russell Duncan and Walter Duncan Sr. Step-granddaughter of Eliza Robinson. Neice of Robert D. Robinson of Seattle, WA, Henrietta Robinson of Gary, Indiana, Betty Grace of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mary Robinson of Pensacola, Florida. Devoted daughter-in-law of Edna Mae Garner of Greenville, Miss. Sister-in-law of Doretha Taylor-Marshall, Edna J. Frank and Prince Garner, Kenneth and Julius Rainey Sr., James Marshall and the late Jacqueline Garner. Devoted friend of Irene Fullwood Mills and Sifronia Ancar. Deceased is also survived by 2 half-brothers and 1 half-sister, a host of devoted nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and members of First Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Empire, La, St. Paul Baptist Church of Gretna, LA, Glory Land Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, Life Center Cathedral Church in Marrero, LA and all neighboring churches of Plaquemines Parish are invited to attend Molly’s “Celebration of Life” service on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the First Mount Zion Baptist Church located at 32550 Hwy 23 Empire, LA 70050 at 11 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9 A.M. and will end at 11 A.M. [ No viewing at end of service]. Dr. Reginald H. Burl Sr. (Pastor) will officiate and she will then be Entombed with her husband in Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras, La.

The family will receive guest for a visitation on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 Highway 23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037 5 P.M. until 9 P.M.
