Mitchell Victor Encalade, Sr

Mitchell Victor Encalade Sr. was born February 23rd in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Victor and Ezoria Encalade. He departed this life at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia on Sunday November 26, 2023. Mitchell was the loving father to Mitchell (Shakita) Encalade Jr., Espy (Robin) Encalade Sr, Syche (Matthew) Bougere, Garen (Kimberly) Encalade, and Alicia Encalade (Jarmarkus).

Mitchell was a resident of Bohemia, Louisiana and he attended Phoenix High School where he received his diploma. Mitchell went on to join the US Army in 1969. After completing his term, he went on to work at United Gas Pipeline where he retired. He was a member of the American legion "Paul Narcisse" Post 430.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memories 3 sons, 2 daughters, 27 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 Godchild Ruford Williamson, 3 sisters Jerolie (Ronald) Chisom, Alonda (Johnie) Mathews, and Conchita Carter, 2 aunts Deloris Pinkney and Bonnie Cross, 4 devoted friends, Cornell Johnson, John Bartholomew, Zachary Narcisse, Antoine Duplessis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mitchell was proceeded in death by his parents Ezoria (Cross) and Victor Encalade, and his brother Anthoney Encalade.
 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration in honor of Mitchell's life on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Bethlehem African Judea Baptist Church located at 19622 LA - 15, Pointe A La Hache, LA 70082. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Brannon K. Cross officiating and entombment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
