Miranda Edwards

Miranda Edwards-Leonard was called home to be with our Heavenly Father at the tender age of 58 on January 20, 2024, at 5:40pm.  Sister Miranda Edwards-Leonard was born on September 8, 1965, in New Orleans La., the 7th child of Sylvester Edwards Sr. and the late Lula M.F Edwards. Sis Edwards-Leonard attended & graduated from L.B Landry High School in the year 1984. She then attended Coastal College and graduated as a Medical Assistance in 1990. 

Sis Edwards-Leonard met & married the late Fredrick Leonard Sr. and together they raised their five kids Fredrick Leonard Jr., Chentee Edwards-Lomax (Miguel), Andre Leonard Sr., Terrance Leonard & Tatanisha Edwards-Jackson (August). Sis. Edwards-Leonard was raised and attend New Genesis Baptist Church located at 3316 2nd St New Orleans La., 70125 where she became a member of the choir. 

She loved to hear her mother the late Lula M.F Edwards sing "1 got something to tell Jesus When I get home" Sis Edwards-Leonard later in life met her Fiance Curtis Laurent Sr., where they then traveled around the world which gave her so much joy. Sis Edwards-Leonard was a loving soul full of joy & light that would brighten anyone's day that crossed her path. Sis Edwards-Leonard leaves to cherish her memories her father Sylvester Edwards Sr. (Dorothy), her five Children, Fredrick Jr., Chentee, Andre Sr, Terrance & Tatanisha, two godchildren India Devlin & Clinton Cooper, eleven grandchildren Ty'Ron Edwards, Talaya Forest, A'niya Jackson, Asia Jackson, Gage Radecker, Zarion Leonard, Zaleah Leonard, Andre Leonard Jr., Andrea Leonard, Kody Dixon, & Mason Woods, one great-grandchild Dior Leonard, five siblings Sylvester Edwards Jr.(Gail), Luvone E Perry( Bernard Sr) Perry Edwards(Paulette), Billy Edwards Sr. (Deongelas), Kizzy Edwards, Her Godfather Rev. Joshua Thomas and a host of Nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Sis Edwards-Leonard was preceded in death by her Husband Fredrick Leonard Sr., Her mother Lula M.F Edwards, her Stepfather Edwards Jones her two sisters Debra & Vanessa Edwards, niece Precious Edwards, her grandparents & aunts.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at New Genesis Baptist Church located at 3316 2nd Street, New Orleans, LA 70125.  The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m.  Pastor M.E. Putman officiating and interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA.
