Michael James Gallegos

New Orleans, Louisiana - Michael James Gallegos, aged 62, passed away on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on October 22nd, 1962, in Vallejo, California, Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother ,friend, and staple in his community. He was the owner of a local, family run construction company, deeply respected and adored by his customers. He was hardworking, giving, and reliable, always leading by example and showing kindness in everything he did. No matter what, he always made time for the people he cared about, going out of his way to help those in need. His sense of humor and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Mike loved spending time with family, enjoyed reading, listening to music, working on personal projects around the house or for loved ones, and playing with his dogs. He traveled many roads, and touched countless lives, creating so many memories along the way. He worked hard from morning to night and would go the distance for those he cared for, without any expectation for anything in return. He'd always wake up extra early to help his kids and grandkids by giving them rides to and from work or school. Michael may have been larger than life, but his willingness to lend a helping hand is what truly defined him.

Michael is survived by his wife Roberta Gallegos; his children: Randall Pumilia, Susan Gallegos, Daniel Gallegos, and Cody Gallegos; his grandchildren, Madalyn Gallegos, Caiden Gallegos, Jolie Gallegos, Tony Pumilia, Cruz Gallegos, and Sophie Gallegos; his brothers Gary Brooks and Jesse Forest; and his stepfather HP Vaughan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Vaughan and his father, Michael Forest. Michael Gallegos will be forever remembered by his loved ones for his strong work ethic, generosity, witty humor, and above all his love for his family.
