Mervin John Wilcox Jr.

Mervin J. Wilcox, Jr. at the age of 67 entered into eternal rest and the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. He was a native and lifelong resident of Gretna, La. Merv had an undeniable passion for golf and could be found on the course any time his wife allowed. He was electric on the dance floor and would take any excuse to cut a rug on any occasion. Merv was genuinely committed to his faith in God, Deeply loved by his friends and family, admired by his golfing students of the First Tee of New Orleans and truly left a mark on this earth by everyone who was blessed to know him.

He was the son of the late Mr. Mervin J. Wilcox Sr. and Mrs. Juanita Ledet Wilcox. Beloved and caring husband of Dorothy (Dottie) Wilcox for the past 32 years. Loving father to Randall (Joy) Wilcox, Bridget (Kevin) Avery, Brandy Ribaud and Brent LeViere. Grandfather of Jordan, Kaleb, Victoria, Hailey, Gaige, Alexis, Cameron, Kelsey, Logan, Tyler and Gunnar. Great grandfather of Paisley, Sawyer and Kylie. Brother of Terri Wilcox Vincent. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

We regret to inform you all that we will not be able to have a service at this time due to the circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus  outbreak.  We will fellowship together and celebrate Merv’s life at a later date to be announced.
