Melvin Ross

Melvin Ross Jr. entered eternal rest at his home in Port Sulphur, LA on Thursday June 29, 2023. He was 81 years old and was affectionately known to many as "PC". He was born August 8, 1941, to the union of the late Melvin Sr. and Juanita Ross. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Evelyn W. Ross on December 25, 1968. He was the brother of Shirley Jason, Rev. Irvin Ross Sr., Helen Ross Trufant, and Juanita Ross. The godfather of Rosemary Weatherstrand, Chalsea Sylve, and Auraud Thomas. He was proceeded in death by his parents Melvin Sr. and Juanita Ross, his wife Evelyn W. Ross, four siblings Clyde, Hewitt, Olester, and Vincent Ross. He is survived by his devoted niece Adasha Thomas, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend The Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Friday July 7, 2023, at 11AM, at Robinson Family Funeral Home in Belle Chasse, LA. The visitation will begin at 10AM until time of service. Pastor Darnell Smith Sr. of St. Peter Baptist Church of Oakville officiating, and internment will follow at Johnson Fisher Cemetery in Port Sulphur, LA.
