Manuel Dickerson Obituary

Manuel J. Dickerson was born on September 20, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He entered into the pearly gates on Monday, December 18, 2023. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army and gained the nickname "SARGE". He was the beloved son of the late James T. Dickerson Sr. and Gladys Diaz Anderson.

Sarge worked for Toyota and Nissan as an auto mechanic for many years. He was a well-known chef at Ochsner hospital. He dedicated a lot of his time to his Masonic brothers.

Manuel leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife Ruby Nelson-Dickerson of over 30 years. He had a bonus daughter (Leslie) and two bonus grandsons (Maurice and RaQuan). 3 brothers James T. Dickerson Jr (Cherry), Glenn Anderson of New Orleans, and the late Donald L. Dickerson. 2 sisters Kimberly A. Dickerson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Cheryl Anderson of New Orleans, Louisiana. A host of sisters and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A private memorial service along with Military Honors will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA.
