Madella Robinson Edmonds transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, May 24, 2024, at her home in Gretna LA. She was 67 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Buras LA. until relocating to Gretna after Hurricane Katrina. She was a proud graduate of Buras High School Class of 1976 and was a retired Center Coordinator for the Plaquemines Parish Council On Aging. She was also a longtime member of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church of Empire LA., where she served as president of the Usher's Ministry for many years.
Beloved daughter of the late Alfred Robinson Jr. and Helen Duncan Robinson. Granddaughter of the late Alfred Robinson Sr., Inez Ruby Robinson, Walter Duncan Sr., and Mollie Russell Duncan. Devoted and loving wife of Ronald Levern Edmonds. Beloved mother of Terrence Jarod Robinson Sr. Mother-in-law of Christy Coludovich Robinson. Stepmother of Delois Laverne Blow (Eric). Cherished grandmother of Terrence Jarod Robinson Jr. (Gabriella), Trae Jalin Robinson (Kayla), Tre 'Ana Ja'Nai Robinson (Vic) and Tiara Hilton (Shawn). Sister of Joelle R. Griffith (Samuel), Linda Sue R. Alexis (Perry Sr. deceased), Jerome L. Robinson (Felecia), Traynella R. Griffin (Randell Sr.), and the late Tyrone Robinson (Margie) and Molly Ann R. Garner (Jimmy deceased). Daughter in law of Willie Mae St. Ann and the late Bernard St. Ann Sr. Sister-in-law of Aaron St. Ann, Randy Edmonds, Linda Pearson, Beverly Edmonds, Tracy St. Ann, Patricia Nichols, Debra Jefferson, Benita Johnson, Shelia St. Ann, and Bernard St. Ann Jr. Devoted friend of Joseph and Pleasine Powell and Lucretia Hunter. Devoted cousin of Myrtle Toulouse. Loving aunt of Tasha Robinson Boyer, Rev. Jordan La 'Vell Robinson Sr (Candace), Nicole Maryland (David), Wendell and Kendall Griffith (Kristi), Perry Jr. (Spencine) and Perrilyn Alexis, Travis (Shannon) and Treshell Garner, Randell Jr., and Tyrell Griffin. Niece of Robert D. and Mary Robinson, Betty Grace, and Henriette Robinson. Madella is also survived by 2 half-brothers and one half-sister, her great nieces and nephews, cousins, her First Mount Zion Church family, other relatives, and devoted friends whom she loved dearly as well as her grand-puppy Esco.
Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at First Mount Zion Baptist Church located at 32250 Hwy 23, Empire LA. The visitation will begin at 9 am until 11am ONLY. The funeral service will begin at 11am. Rev. Dr. Reginald H. Burl Sr., will officiate, and entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park located at 1225 Whitney Ave. Gretna LA. The family will also receive guests on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Robinson Family Funeral 9611 LA-23, Belle Chasse LA. from 7p.m., until 10 p.m., with a Reflection Service beginning at 8 p.m.
