Lula Mae (Knox) Johns

Lula Mae Knox Johns, departed this life on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at her home in New Orleans, La.  She was 86 years old and was a native of Liberty Mississippi, and a longtime resident of New Orleans.  She was a retired school bus driver for the Orleans Parish School Board.  

Daughter of the late Silas and Amanda Martin Knox.  Beloved mother of Marilyn J. Joseph (Arthur), Amanda J. Daniels (late Edward), Phyllis J. Marks, Michael Ward (Stacy), James Johns (Chrystal), Stephanie Johns, Lemar Johns (Kentrle) and the late Carolyn and Gregory Johns.  Sister of Norma Raye Short, Louvilla Morgan, and the late Thomas Knox, Albert Bates, and Ola Mae Wilkerson.  Devoted friend of Dale Strong, Virgil, and Jessie Ward and Damerius and Calvinette Nettles.  She was also formerly married to the late Louis Edward Johns.  Mrs.  Johns is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 26 great - great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.  

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral discourse which will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA., 70037.  The limited visitation will begin at 10 a.m.  Brother Kurt Barnes will begin speaking at 12 noon.  

Services will be also be live streamed via zoom for those who cannot attend.
