Lois Katherine Chisel Ragas Riley (aka) Katy, peacefully transitioned from earthly to heavenly on Friday, June 3, 2022, at her home.
Katherine was born on February 3, 1937, to the late Gilbert, Sr., and Winnie Ragas. She was a native of Port Sulphur, Louisiana until she relocated to Terrytown, Louisiana due to the passage of Hurricane Katrina. Katherine was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie E. Riley on June 29, 1974. Katherine was blessed to be the mother of two sons, Nathaniel and Anthony (Peggy) Rodgers from her previous marriage to the late Albert Rodgers, one adopted daughter, Knedia (Avery) Parker Diaz and a stepson, Vent (Cassandra) Williams. Katherine is loved and cherished by her siblings, Doris Turner, Gilbert Ragas, Sr., Ella Riley, Winnie (Richard) Williamson, Charles (Cynthia), Rev. John Sr. (Gwen), Albert (Elaine) Ragas and Marvel Parker. Katherine loved and doted her grandchildren Kayla and Anthony Rodgers, Jr., Gabriella, Jorge, and Josiah Diaz. She was the step grandmother of Jasmine Jones, and Chanel Diaz. Katherine adored her little great granddaughter, Amari Jones.
Katherine was a prayer warrior and loved serving God. She enjoyed life and delighted in family times.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memories, devoted friend, Edwin Harris, her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchild siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.

Katherine was preceded in death by her mother and father, her maternal and paternal grandparents, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of all neighboring churches of Plaquemines Parish, employees, and officials of Plaquemines Parish Government, are all invited to attend the celebration of life services which will be held on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, at Greater St. Peter Baptist Church located at 182 W. St. Peter Street, Belle Chasse, LA. 70037. The visitation will begin at 8 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Dr. Darnell Smith officiating, and entombment will follow at OLPH Cemetery in Belle Chasse, LA.
The family will also receive guest for a visitation on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, at Robinson Family Funeral Home from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
