Lisa Ann Mackyeon was born January 26, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Millie Landry and the late Grady Samuels Sr. and was the stepdaughter of the late William S. Landry. She grew up in Kenner, LA and attended Grace King High School. Lisa was a resident Marrero, LA and was a member of the Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church. On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, God called her into his loving arms from the West Jefferson Medical Center. She was 63 years old.
Lisa Ann leaves to cherish her memory her seven children: Darcelle (Bernard) Murray, Leslie (Sheldon Sr.) Petty, Kimberly Nunez, Jonathan, Tina, Damon, and Chotsoni Mackyeon; her longtime partner: Albert Cain; seven sisters: Shirley Williams, Patricia (Roman Sr.) Davis, and Jacqueline Landry, Joyce, Fabiola, Julia, and Onedia Samuels; three brothers: Todd, Charles, John’L Samuels; her grandchildren: Dana, Sheldon Jr., Shalai, Collin, Emerson, Shilah, Jada, Shanlie, Shalom, Shemar, Braylon, Zwyia, Zwyman, and three great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather; seven brothers: Clarence Johnson, Wayne, and Rodney Morris, Grady Jr., Rayfield, Mayfield, and DonaldJ Samuels; three sisters: Betty Harris; Carol Dixon; and Shelia Mackyeon; and her dog Bella, who she often referred to as a daughter.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Second St. John Baptist Church located at 242 Avondale Garden Road, Avondale LA. The visitation will begin at 8:30AM followed by a 10AM service. Pastor Damien Brown will officiate, and interment will be private.
