Born September 1, 1938, in Pointe à la Hache, Louisiana, Lillian was the first of seven children born to Daisy and Louis Narcisse. Lillian also found solace and faith in other religious communities, embracing the teachings that brought her peace.
Lillian was known for her straightforward and no-nonsense approach to life. With a zest for life, she made sure to enjoy every minute. She enjoyed shopping at the thrift store, shucking oysters, and savoring the taste of boiled crabs, shrimp, and Taffity's gumbo. Lillian took great delight in going on family cruises and embracing the various islands she encountered.
Throughout her journey, Lillian experienced both joy and heartbreaking loss. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Edwards, her son, Merlin Encalade, and her grandson, Shawn Encalade. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Anthony Narcisse, Paul (the late Leona) Narcisse, Michael (the late Paulina) Narcisse, and brother-in-law, the late Rudy Cosse.
Lillian is survived by her five children: Zachary Narcisse, Rosalind Narcisse, Marnita Johnson, Sharon Reddick, and Shawn Encalade. She is also survived by her brother, Antoine Narcisse, and her sisters, Mary Cosse and Olga Narcisse. Lillian's sister-in-law, Gail Narcisse, her 14 grandchildren, as well as a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren will also cherish their memories of her.
Lillian's family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her, and her love and unwavering spirit will continue to serve as a guiding light in their lives. Her straightforward approach to life and her joyous demeanor will forever be remembered.
