Lee McClure Obituary

Lee Irvin McClure Sr., was born June 5, 1959, in Carpenter, MS, to the late Edna Arlean Craft McClure and Willie Frank McClure, Sr. He peacefully departed this Life on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the age of 66 at Ochsner Medical Center in Gretna, LA.

Lee was raised in the loving community of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Carpenter, MS, under the leadership of the late C. P. Curtis and educated in Crystal Spring School district where he formed the early foundation of his character, quite strength, dedication, and love for God and family.

As a young man Lee journeyed to Harvey, LA, where he met the love of his life, Ruby Lee Houston McClure Their union was blessed with three children. Sharlita Houston (Raymond), Lee Irvin McClure, Jr, and the late Kerry Von McClure. As an adult, Lee devoted his spiritual time at Second Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Harvey, LA, under the leadership of Pastor James Houston and Love Outreach Christian Center. He dedicated more than forty years to his career as an industrial sandblaster and painter.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Edna Arlean Craft McClure and Willle Frank McClure, Sr.. son: Kerry Von McClure, sister. Erma Jean McClure; brothers: Willie Frank McClure Jr., Lorenzo McClure, Sr., Willie Lee McClure and Clyde McClure.

Lee Irvin McClure, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Ruby Lee Houston McClure of Harvey LA., his children; Sharlita Houston (Raymond); and Lee Irvin McClure, Jr; three grandsons: Sherman Houston, Jeremiah Houston, and Leijahreh McClure, four great grandchildren: Shaquil Kinney, Malia Houston, Immanul Houston, and Peter Houston: four sisters: Evangelist Bobbie Jean McClure (James) Nunn of Byram, MS, Brenda Truitt of Harvey, LA, Sherlena McClure (Johnnie) WIlson of Baton Rouge. LA, and Tyra McClure Butler, eight brothers. Reverend Lonzo (Doris) McClure Sr. of Utica, MS., Larry (Jackie) McClure of Marrero, LA., Johnny Lee (Lois) McClure of Gretna, LA., Jasper (Loree) McClure of Jackson, MS., Robert (Michelle) McClure, Florence, MS., McArthur McClure of Marrero, LA., Michael McClure of Utica, MS; and Victor Pringles of NY; step brotber I.C. (Rita) Wilson of LA., father-in-Law. Reverend James Houston, sisters & brothers in-law Carrie Smith, Jannie M. Houston, Linda J. Houston, Willie J. Goffner, Mary A. Birden, Ernest L. Houston, and Willie J, Houston all of LA, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, and other relatives and friends.
