Lee Esther Summers Cornin

Lee Esther Summers Cornin departed this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at St. Bernard Parish Hospital in Chalmette LA., she was 73 years old and a native and lifelong resident of Phoenix LA. Mrs. Cornin was a retired schoolteacher with over 25 years of teaching experience with both St. Jude Catholic School and the Plaquemines Parish School Board. She was also a longtime dedicated member of the St. Joseph Baptist Church in Phoenix.

Daughter of the late Rogers and Rebecca Reed Summers. Devoted mother of Vernon H. Cornin Jr. Loving grandmother of Chelsae and Chyna Cornin. Great grandmother of Reagan Ra'Nae Cornin, Brooklyn Ra'Shai St. Cyre and Italy Anise St. Cyre. Sister of Rudy Summers (Bridgie), Emelda Barthelemy, and Marietta Palmer (Ronald). Aunt of Avanda Williams White (Darrow), DeKisha Summers Ojo, Alearrana Barthelemy Young (Cory), and John Barthelemy Jr. (Markecia). She is also survived by her godchild Zeta Pag and her longtime devoted friend Regina Picquet, as well as several beloved cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Baptist Church 158 St. Joseph Lane, Phoenix LA., 70040. The visitation will begin at 9AM followed by an 11AM service.

Pastor Nadel Cosse' will officiate and entombment will follow in the church's cemetery.
