LaBaren Garrard Barakat-Bartholomew a Program Annalists for the Department of State, passed away at his home in Harvey, LA on Monday, April 9, 2018. He was 46 years old. LaBaren accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at the assembly of God Church of Boothville, LA in 1980.

Beloved son of Linda Mallard Powell & Alfred Bartholomew Sr. Stepson of Winston L. Powell Jr. Devoted Father of Lachantel, Asia, Miriam, Bryan & Aiden Bartholomew. Loving Brother of Alynda Mallard, Latrice Mallard, Lance Bartholomew, LaJuan Powell, Natika Bartholomew-Everett, Krishelle Powell-Landers (Edward), Bobby (Ungie) Powell, Jordan Powell, Tyla Powell, Evelyn Powell & the late Alfred Bartholomew Jr. Grandfather of Zayden Allen. Grandson of the late Sherman & Lillian Mallard Jr., Rosena & Robert Bartholomew Sr. Great grandson of the late Olivia and Harrison Vaughn. Godson of Rachelle Thomas. Godfather Jordan Parker and Charles Perry.

Deceased also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family, pastor, officers and members of Life Center Cathedral, Zion Hill Christian Church of God in Christ of Boothville, LA, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Boothville, LA as well as all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Life Center Cathedral 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA 70072 at 10 a.m. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Bishop J. Douglas Wiley-Taylor officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Tropical Bend Memorial Park in Empire, LA.
