Obituary of Kirk Espadron Sr.
January 23, 1964 - July 12, 2025
Kirk John Espadron Sr. departed this life on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He was 61 years old. He was a spirited and hard working person. He was born on January 23, 1964 to the late John Emile and Elvira Riley Espadron. Kirk was a longtime resident of Homeplace, LA of Plaquemines Parish until 2005.
He uprooted his family to Abbeville, La., due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina. He is survived by his loving and devoted of 27 years, Mary Duncan Espadron and their children Oprah Espadron, Tieara (Mike) Dokes. His grandsons whom he cherished so much, Norman Taylor, and McKoy Dokes.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Keith (Late Lucretia) Espadron, Kimberly (Ricky) Encalade, Karen (Fredrick) Pleasure and Kerri (late Nora) Espadron. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for them. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Edward (Annie) Duncan, Mercedes (Clifford) Jones, Ernestine (late Ronald) Amedee, Phyllis (Anthony Sr.) Mackey, Cynthia Rodgers, Claude (Zelma) Duncan, David (Starla) Duncan, late Randolph (late Rhonda), Duncan, late Patricia Duncan, as well as the late Alexander Sr (Jane) Duncan.
He is predeceased by his parents, late John Emile and Elvira Riley Espadron as well as his son, Kirk Espadron Jr.
Kirk is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, July26, 2025, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church located at 39752 Highway 23 Boothville, LA 70038. Pastor Theodore Turner Jr., officiating and entombment will follow at Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire, La.
