Keyoeker Pearl 'Key'Dee' Carter was born on Friday, October 24, 1986 to the union of Allen Carter Jr. and Vanessa Couto Ward in Gretna LA. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized the early age 12 by the late Pastor Noily Paul Jr. at the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Gretna.
Key'Dee was a native of Gretna LA. and a resident of Harvey LA. She graduated from Dewitt High School in Houston Texas and then went on to study at Everett Community College where she graduated as a phlebotomist.
She was an amazing hair stylist and a very hard worker. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed helping the elderly and having fun with her family and friends. She had a warm spirit with a very kind heart. To know her was to love her.
On Tuesday, February 14, 2023 she bid goodby to this old world at the age of 36.
She was preceded in death by her father Allen Carter Jr., her grandparents Isabella and Allen Carter Sr. and Amye Sue and Freeman Couto.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved mother Vanessa C. Ward, her stepfather Kevin Ward, her beautiful daughter Kei'lah Q. Carter Ward, one brother Alvin Couto (Big Al), seven nephews Tyrone Collins (Ashley), Alvin K. Couto, Aston Holmes, Daris Thomas, Bryant Malsoson, Bryson Couto and Avery Couto, one niece Alaylah Couto, six aunts Juanita Cloudet (George), Peggy Duhe, Dale Turner, Cynthia Couto, Ernestine Carter and Yvette Rose, three uncles Freeman Couto Jr, Charles and Harlen Carter, and three devoted friends Karen Sanders, Medcline Jefferson and Kadesha Minor as well as other relatives and friends.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, Now henceforth there is laid up for me a crown rightousness, which the Lord, the rightous Judge, will give me on that day--and not only to me, but to all who loves his appearing.
