Kenneth Keith Lewis, Sr.

Kenneth Keith Lewis Sr. departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 65 years old. Mr. Lewis was a lifelong resident of Orleans Parish. He was a welder, a painter, and an all-around jack of all trades.
Kenneth Lewis Sr. was born to the late Mary and Ralph Casby on April 16, 1960. In 1978, he married Peggy Roy and through that union was born: Kentrle (Lemar) Johns Sr., Kelicia Lewis, Kenneth (Ke'Shawn) Lewis Jr., and Karlene Lewis. He was also the father of Kendra Wilson. He was the grandfather to: Keion, Keiontae', Kenneth III, and Kentaz Lewis, Fareionta' Harris, Kayla and Lemar Johns Jr., Braliyaah Brown, Sha'Nell, A'Janell and Earnell Patterson, Deshawn Noil, De'jah Wilson, and Demari Wilson. He was the great-grandfather to Keimyria Lewis, Ka'Lani Cary, and Kai'ven Johns. Mr. Lewis was the loving brother of Terry Casby, Tracy (Wency) Casby Sr., Roslyn (Anthony) Matthews, and Adana (Michael) Cummings. He is survived by his companion, Carolyn Wilson, his godmother, and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ralph Casby. His maternal grandparents, Mary and Curtis Lewis, and paternal grandparents, Helen and Ralph Casby, and his brother, Kim Casby.
Kenneth loved being a member of the Mohawk Hunters; he found joy in ringing his bell as he paraded through the city. His amazing storytelling left family and friends laughing for hours. He loved to paint with his special twist, of course. You always ended up with Kenneth's special line on a wall somewhere. He loved to joke and clown with his kids and grandkids. He also taught his grandkids to garden and draw.
Take your rest. We will truly miss you. You're resting in the arms of the master, where we all hope to be one day. We love you now and forever.
