Kenneth Thomas Harvey, Sr

Kenneth T. Harvey, Sr. peacefully left this earth on April 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his daughters, at the age of 82. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Kenneth was a proud graduate of Phoenix High School in Phoenix, LA, in Plaquemines Parish.
As a young adult, he was employed by Bass Enterprise before building a distinguished career with Chevron Corporation, where he served as an Operator. Following his retirement from Chevron, he chose to remain active by working with family at Denet Towing, where he was affectionately known to all as "Big Dog."


Kenneth was the beloved husband of the late Anna Rodgers Harvey. He was a devoted father to Courtney (Melvin) Polite, Deana (Reginald) Howard, and Kemisha Harvey. He cherished his role as grandfather to Allana Anderson, Brandy Robertson, Kristen Deruise, Jasmine Banks, Darryl Banks, Jr., Reginald Howard, Jr., Trevis Deruise, and Trevon Deruise. He is also survived by his beloved godchildren, Jimmy Marshall, Shari Rodgers Griffin, Ellied Riley, Nicholas Cornin, and Cherisse Brown Reid, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Elois (Clifford) Brown, Betty Rodgers, and Shari Harvey.


Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Rodgers Harvey; his father, Milton Harvey; his mother, Annie Encalade Edgerson; his mother-in-law, Josephine Kirkland Harvey; his brothers, Charles Harvey and Paul Harvey; his sister, Carole Encalade Jones; his sons, Troy Mashon Harvey and Kenneth Harvey; and his sister, Frances Lacour.
His memory will be forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Father Sidney Speaks officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with the Holy Rosary at 10:00 AM.
Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
