Karen Agee Kates was born on July 10, 1564. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Passages Hospice in New Orleans, La. She was 58 years old.
Karen Agee Kates was born in Robbins, Illinois to the union of Marvin Agee and Ethel Agee.
She was happily married to her devoted husband Michael Kates for 37 years. Karen was the eldest daughter of 8 children and her siblings will deeply cherish their fond memories of her. Karen dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 22, 1983. She was a spiritual woman who loved being taught by Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ. Karen also enjoyed her ministry. She joyfully served as a regular pioneer for 15 years until the end. She was always busy teaching other about Jehovah's Kingdom and having plenty to do in the work of the Lord. She was a loving wife and mother, adoring grandmother, and an excellent friend to many. She always wore a beautiful smile that will be cherished and missed by all who knew her.
She leaves her loving embrace to be cherished by her loving and supportive husband Michael Kates, her daughters Marissa Kates, Cheryl Pendleton (Paul) Osaria Sanders (Kenneth), Michelle Anderson (Antonio), and her grandchildren,
Also left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Marvin Agee Jr (Sarah), Keith Agee (Hortense), Chester Agee (Marilyn) Daryl Agee, (Da Erica), Juan Agee (Lisa) and Vineice Michel (Johnny). She is also survived by her grandchildren, a host of niece's nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin Agee and Ethel Agee and her brother Michael Agee.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service which will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Algiers Auditorium located at 2485 Guadacanal St., New Orleans, LA 70114. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Brother Ramon Doucette is speaking. The family also invites everyone to share with them at the Repast which will immediately follow the Memorial Service.
Due to Covid - 19, facemasks are encouraged.
