Joseph "Joe" Sylve

Joseph "Joe" Sylve Jr. was born on March 11, 1958 to the late Elizabeth Sylve and Joseph Sylve Sr.  He entered eternal rest at Ochsner Hospital Westbank Campus on Monday, August 9th, 2021 at the age of 63 years young.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory to his wife of 23 years, Malindann Vinet Sylve.  Father of Quatrina Sylve, Matthew Sylve (Teri), Drew Sylve Sr. (Amanda), Kally Sylve, Theodore Sylve (Tiffany), Cory Phillips (Alicia), and Elizabeth Sylve (Ryan).  He is the son-in-law of Stanley Vinet Sr, Renee Stoufflet, Linda Dinet, and the late Frances St. Ann.  Brother of Marylou Ancar, Rochelle Fitte (Chris), and the late Linda DeMolle (Harold).  Grandfather of Sa'nne Gordon, Drew Sylve Jr., Chloe Sylve, Isaiah Sylve, Carleigh Sylve, Cora Sylve, Cullen Sylve, Rosalie Mills, and Lorelei Mills.  Nephew of Laverne Black, Donna Sylve, and Vinery Sylve.  Godfather of Nicholas Dinet Jr. Joe loved the New York Jets & New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed sausage making, wine tasting, gardening and acting goofy to make people laugh at his corny jokes. Mostly of all, he adored all his family and going to church.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Joe on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church located at 4401 7th Street, Marrero, LA 70072.  The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m.  Father Jimmy Jeanfreau officiating and internment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA. 

Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering and practice social distancing.
