Joseph Distefano Obituary
Joseph Distefano, Jr. (Joe) entered into eternal rest peacefully surrounded by his family on February 2, 2023 at the age of 76. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 26, 1946 to Joseph Distefano, Sr. and Gloria Engvall Distefano, Joe was a lifetime resident of Marrero, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rosiere Distefano and his parents Joseph Sr. and Gloria Distefano. He and Linda married in 1968, having met one another at the young age of 13 while attending Marrero Middle School. He is survived by his loving children Joseph (Amanda) Distefano III and Nicole Distefano (Joel) Klause, grandchildren Ian and Lauren Distefano and Michael and Maria Klause, brother Robert Distefano, and a host of nieces and nephews. Joe was a devoted husband and father who worked hard his entire life and who prioritized family. From offshore-man, to oilfield, salesman, to insurance salesman, to hot shot runner and dispatcher, he was a bit of a jack of all trades. Somehow, he still found time to be little league coach for many of children' sports teams at Pard Playground and fix everything that went wrong on the family's cars and home. He loved learning about and working on cars, listening to blues music, and drinking Coca Cola.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral mass which will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church located at 329 S. Jamie Blvd. Avondale, LA 70094. In lieu of flowers, masses offered for Joe are preferred.
