Johnny Ray Mitchell

Johnny Ray Mitchell departed this life peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Ochsner Hospital Main Campus. He was 64 years old and was born on January 7, 1957, in New Orleans, LA.  Johnny was baptized on July 3, 1971, as a Jehovah’s Witness and his behavior and demeanor showed that he truly had qualities that reflected what he believed.  He loved his wife, and his family dearly.  His children and his grandchildren were his joy.

Son of Emelda Calongne and the late Joseph Mitchell.  Beloved husband of 37 years to Vineice Kathleen Agee Mitchell.  Devoted father of Jessica Lafrance Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Erica Marie Mitchell, and Jordan Mitchell.  His four siblings, Avis Mitchell Blackwell, Antionette Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell, and the late Donald Calongne.  
Also left to cherish his memory are 5 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives as well as a large extended spiritual family.  
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 LA – 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.  The service will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.  Brother Terrence Burroughs will be speaking and interment will be private.  The funeral service for Johnny Ray Mitchell will also be live streamed via Zoom.  The meeting ID is 869 3942 0165.  The Passcode is 956632.
