Johnny Ray Henry “Dirty Red” entered into the joy of eternal life on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the age of 47. He was born December 13, 1973 and lived in New Orleans, LA. He is the son of the late John J. Henry “Unc” and Theresa Henry “Mama Tee”. He received Christ at an early age.
He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved wife Iman Greene-Henry, his son Johnny Sumlin, step-son Vertelle Smith and daughter Journi Henry. Son-in-law of Shelia Sutton. God-father of Terrineisha Black and Rylan Williams.
He is the brother of Harold Lewis, Jr. (Diane) of Lafayette, LA, Theresa Evans (Herman) of Magnolia, TX, Orville Lewis (Karen), Olivia Common (Larry), Olive Lewis-Magee, Oliver Lewis, Kerry Lewis (Bobbianne), Karen Bradley (Lawrence) of Chicago, Illinois, Kenneth Alexander of New York, and Kevin Lewis. Nephew of Marion L. Varnado and Earl Henry. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He also preceded in death by his brothers the late William Lewis, Michael Lewis and sister the late Louise Pierce.
Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of St. James A.M.E. of New Orleans and Victory Christian Center International are all invited to attend the graveside service on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery located at 3540 US – 90, Avondale, LA 70094. The visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., and the service will begin at 1 p.m. Rev. Dr. Demetrese Phillips officiating and entombment will immediately follow the service.
Due to COVID – 19, EVERYONE in attendance MUST wear a facemask or other proper facial covering.
