Johnnie Webber Obituary
Johnnie Irvin Webber, Jr. went to his heavenly resting place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 56. He was born October 29, 1966, in New Orleans, LA to the late Josenia Frank Waters and Johnnie I. Webber, Sr., and was nurtured by Vance Waters.
Johnnie professed his belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Harvey, LA by the late Reverend R.C. Cole.
He attended Jefferson Parish Schools throughout his childhood. His passion for cosmetology was realized early on and lead to a 34 year long career in the field.
Johnnie is survived by his son, Skyler Cook of Newark, DE; his maternal aunts, Rosalind Henderson of Harvey, LA and Minerva Hawkins of Marrero, LA; his maternal uncles, Larry Cooks Sr. (Deanna) of Marrero and Robert Cooks Sr. (Brenda) of Lancaster, TX; his paternal aunt, Cheryl Webber of Las Vegas, NV; and paternal uncle, George Webber (Yolanda) of Kenner, LA. He is preceded in death by his mother, Josenia Waters; his father, Johnnie I. Webber Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Floyzell Cooks and Herman Frank; and his paternal grandparents, Leona and Ford Webber Sr.
Relatives and friends of the family, also clients and employees of Hair & Now Beauty Salon are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Israel Baptist Church located at 1612 Esther Street, Harvey, LA. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Darryl McKinnies officiating, and interment will be private.
